And we are live!!!

If you are reading this the new website in now live!! I am REALLY pleased the way it has come together and I've managed to integrate everything into looking like it comes from the same site. The journal took ages to fit into the main site but I am relatively happy with the compromises I had to make and don't think it looks too bad.

There is still work to be done, I want to look at the themes of the gallery and message board to make them fit better. And there are still a few other adjustments I would like to make. I think my new hosting company, 247-host, has a lot of new features I can play with so forgive me if the site is changeable over the next few months! Interestingly my little piece of internet real estate is now hosted in Canada!! I also plan to add depth to and update the content of the site. Any ideas for new pages??

Finally, I would like to thank my previous hosts, Vision Internet, for about 6 years of happy service. I can only remember one minor complaint I had about the customer service I received from them (and that was several years ago), their hosting is reliable, just a little too expensive and the web space allowance was a little limiting for me at the moment.

You may have noticed that on the right hand side of the page features my twitter feed. I have also incorporated twitter into my journal, it publishes a daily digest of my tweets and (although it needs fixed) has been announcing new journal posts in my twitter feed.

There are many more extensions I can add to both my website and my journal but first I want to get everything up and running.

You have arrived at the home page of Andy Thomson. Sometime chemist, sometime web designer formerly an English teacher in Japan and classroom assistant at Donaldson's School. I am currently a student teacher studying at Edinburgh University. This site is a culmination of many hours of work, many years of dreaming and lots of fun!!

I've recently moved this site to a new host which allows a lot more scope for adding content, I will be adding lots of pictures when I have the time.

Surf around and check out the site, I will be adding content as I have the time (there are only so many hours in a day ya know!). The journal is one of the fun things I have been working on and I am pleased to have implemented. The gallery should have more content added to it soon. There is a visitors gallery if you wish to upload a picture to add to it. On the left hand side panel you will find links, one to a website I run for my class and others of interest including Hibs!!!
