Some of these are very outdated but now I am moving over to a CMS I will endeavour to get them updated in the near future.

1. Firefox
Mozilla Firefox is quite simply an astonishing browser. For years I was seeking an alternative to IE and sadly every one I tried didn't come up to scratch. Firefox has been amazing from my first try! It's got to the stage that I can't stand to use IE. I seriously recommend you give it a try - it is, after all, FREE!

2. Thunderbird
Again, I find this program beyond indispensable! It is by far the best email program I have ever used and, again, it's completely FREE!

3. Nintendo DS
The blame for this one (and number four) lays firmly with one Mr. Anson Gip. I never was much of a video gamer, I had an Atari Lynx when I was younger but it never really took a hold of me. I never played them for my first year in Japan either. Then Anson came to town.
The Nintendo DS is a wonderful handheld gaming console. It features two screens (one touch sensitive) and can play GameBoy Advance games as well. It's great.

4. Sony PSP
It looks absolutely fantastic!! I hope to buy one pretty soon. Besides playing games it can play music and movies as well. A wonderful looking piece of entertainment equipment. I got one in 2006.
5. Mini-Disc
Nearly everyone in Japan has one yet they are pretty rare in Scotland. I bought one a year ago and haven't looked back. They are great, really useable and easy to use. (edit: Is this dated or what? For the record I now use an mp3 player.)
6. CDWow
These websites are fantastic for ordering CDs, DVDs, games and much more. They're cheap and add to that free delivery you have a very good deal!
7. Football Manager
The boys at SI have done it again!!! Sports Interactive the former makers of Championship Manager have come back with the best football management sim ever! Utterly addictive, you don't know how hard it is to make this site and not play the game! Genious!

8. Uncle Khan's (a.k.a. Kebab Mahal)
Without doubt the greatest Indian Restaurant on the planet (I've been half way round it y'know!). This unassuming little restaurant makes such fantastic food you go back for more and more. Portions are huge and it is very cheap. Don't miss out - go see my Uncle Khan!!! In 2009 it was voted best curry house in Scotland!
Address: Nicolson Square, Edinburgh, Scotland.
9. Gyudon
Beef don bori is my favourite Japanese food. Basically a bowl of rice with thinly slices beef in a tasty stew on top. It is widely avialible and popular in Japan and also very cheap - a "big big size" bowl will set you back about ¥600 (only £3).

10. Hibernian Football Club
Formed in 1875 by Irish immegrants Hibernian is one of the loves of my life. I am really missing it here and can't wait to get back to Easter Road! Their website has a wonderful membership package allowing Hibbies access to lots of great stuff.

11. Ubuntu Linux
In 2007 I bought a new computer and decided to look around to see if there was a better OS on the market. I tried tons of them and, as part of the search, took a look at Ubuntu to see what the big deal was. It absolutely rules and I have never looked back. I so heartily reccomend it for anyone to try. And I mean anyone!!
